Alura Talking Machine, Antique Phonograph Disc Reproducer chrome but based on other worksI'm not the least bit knowledgable about old phonographs, but know this is a "reproducer" disc, the function of which was is to convert the sound impressions from the record into sound waves. Coming across it the other day in Maine, I just loved seeing the words "talking machine" in perfect sans serif capital letters, and all the better combined with "Alura" and two stars in between. The first thing it made me think of, actually, was artificial
