I have found a few different dates associated with this version--as early as the 1920s and as late as the early 1940s

Plus a marvelous old crusty surface

Elegant while delivering a great pop of color

and I'd think more likely sometime late-ish 1910s-20s

I'm often looking at old brass stencils used for painting apple crates and barrels, which sometimes bear the names of varieties with which I am unfamiliar but what a much more comprehensive and unfamiliar list this is, with as many varieties I've never heard of as those I
